Mothers and Daughters

A Poem
We carry the weight
always holding it
heavy in our arms.
We sacrifice so much
never asking for payment or reward.
We have the ability to harness pure kindness,
nurture it in deep rooted spaces.
We hold tight to each other,
building a continuous bond
to safely pass it to the next.
*I was inspired to write this for Mother’s Day in response to the mounting pressure I feel to be a good parent*
